An Amazing Woman

I have been given the opportunity of a lifetime. Let me tell you about my friend Kathryn. She is the leader of the Bryant (an adjacent town) Little Rock Marathon Training Group. I have known her for a few years. She is referred to as "Coach K" by all. She has given so, so much to the running community in my area -- and especially to women's running. She is also the leader of the Bryant 'Women Can Run' Clinic. Kathryn is literally half the woman she used to be (or close to it). Check out her link above!

Well, to my SHOCK, Coach K is about to turn 50 on December 16th. Running has given her a much more youthful appearance, FYI. This amazing girl has decided to run 50 miles on her 50th birthday! Can you believe that? She is a marathoner... but 50 miles?!? Wow.

I am lucky; she is letting fellow runners join her. She is starting at midnight (the second she turns 50) and expects to be at mile 35, where I'll join her for 5 miles, after 8 AM. I am so excited! I even get a shirt with a big 50 on the back. Wow!

Go, Coach K, go! You are an inspiration!
