RFE TR #44

Total Miles Trained For Elijah: 362.1

AARGH. The entire tone of today's run can be summed up with my feelings as my alarm went off at 5 AM: I hope it's raining outside. I was not in a running kind of mood. But I got out there anyway.

I ran south to a different neighborhood, then north through downtown, east to the small airport/industrial district, and finally back through my own neighborhood. It was more of a walk, really, as I did a LOT of walking. I did not consult my training schedule; I should have. I was meant to do 7 miles, not 6. Oh well! Too late now. Here are my sad splits:
Mile 1 - 12:40
Mile 2 - 13:03
Mile 3 - 13:30
Mile 4 - 12:37
Mile 5 - 13:28
Mile 6 - 13:33
Average - 13:09 (way too slow)

Today is one of those days where I am just proud to have done it. Period. I am hoping things perk up before Saturday's 18-miler because at this point I am NOT excited.

Susan the fact that you got out of your nice warm bed and got out there and tried say's volumes about your commitment.

Like I told you when we ran together I am always just so amazed at how you get out there and do it all by yourself.

I'm proud of you!!

Lesser people would have shut the alarm off and went back to sleep. The fact that you got up and did it anyway is quite the accomplishment.

Sending extra mojo your way!!

I think it's great that you got out there anyway. I had best intentions for today and the run never happened.

Way to go! You'll do great on Saturday!

The great thing is, you got up and did it. That is sometimes the hardest thing just getting out the door. As much as you have to run by yourself makes it even harder and is an accomplishment in itself. You will do great on Saturday, just keep saying "its only 18 miles"!!

Great job getting out there! We all have days where we feel "off" for one reason or another. I wouldn't fret at all about doing 6 vs 7. I give you a big pat on the back!!

Oh no! Sorry things didn't go the way you wanted - I am one who would have hit snooze and felt bad about it the entire day. Better luck with the 18 miler tomorrow!
