I woke in the middle of the night, then I couldn't get back to sleep. As a result I skipped my AM run. That was a mistake! This evening I had to get together with my close friend Kim. We refer to each other as sister, since I am an only child and she only has a brother, and we are just super close. Kim got engaged on Friday and we had some serious girl talk and wedding planning to take care of. So I could not possibly cancel our dinner to go to the gym and make up the run.
Had Coach Terry not shamelessly bragged bragged on me a few days ago, I may have just skipped the run entirely. But I could not. I decided to forego some precious beauty sleep and go do the run on the treadmill after dinner. Mind you, I have a 6 AM personal training session tomorrow.
Man oh man - these super-quick-paced repeats on the treadmill may be my undoing. Repeat after repeat quicker than my best 5K pace -- why me? It was t-o-u-g-h. I am sure it will turn me into a speed demon -- or I might die trying. :) I'm glad today was just about the longest of this kind of training. Wednesday's 6 miles with only 3 at tempo pace will seem like a walk in the park comparatively. Stay tuned!
