The Big 6-0

Today marks 60 days of no running for me. Can you imagine? For your sake, I hope not. I have an appointment with Dr. C next week. It's just a follow-up. I still plan to be not running until May, if then.

Congrats to Charlie. He has just signed up for a certain windy marathon. I have "signed up" to at least be there to cheer. I bet Petra, Melisa and Maddy will be glad to know that! Ha. Anyone else? If I can not compete, perhaps I can at least do my Worldwide Half Marathon the day beforehand. Maybe they can be my cheerleaders that day.

Not logging 6+ hours per week on the roads of Benton has made me get behind in my podcast listening. And my poor Garmin is collecting dust. My weekend schedule has been clear for so long now... I am a new woman, I tell you! I am just trying to make this new woman appreciate other things in life... but the more I don't run, the more I appreciate running. Ah, it's a vicious cycle.

The Simply Stu Tri is 2 weeks away, and I haven't even touched the water. Eek! I have to get on that ASAP.

These are the confessions of a Peroneal Prisoner!!!!

I hope you're appointment with the Doctor goes well. And I also hopw that you get the all-clear in May. Theat will give you plenty of time ;-).

I'm excited that you will be in Chicago also. This is turning into quite an event!

Good luck with the appointment Susan. I hope your recovery continues to go well. We'll definitely support you in a half, full, or whatever you do.

Sounds like you are having a frustrating time. Keep hammering away at the negative thoughts. This spring weather is so nice that it just calls out for us to get out and run in it. May is just a few weeks away. Really think about it. In 5 weeks or so, it will be May!

Have a great day!

That's a tough anniversary to swallow, but you are healing. Check out my Success Sunday tomorrow... you should be saying "I Believe, I am healed"

You are going to be on the road soon... remember there is still plenty of time to run in a lifetime. This is a just a small setback.

Susan, best of luck at the doc's next week. You've been so good, so patient, and I'm sure it's going to pay off. Look forward to hearing and seeing your SimplyStu tri post!

i can indeed imagine 60 days of no running. I was only allowed to walk. it sucked but it made me walk every single day. And I did come back, but it took time. And you will come back too.

I wish I could say that that experience taught me to appreciate every moment of running, but alas, how soon we forget!

I'll do the WWH with you!

Such wise, sage advice! What can I contribute that others have not mentioned!

I do hope you can run it with us! If not, I'll look forward to having a virtual running partner.

I have decided to dedicate every mile of my first marathon the same way that Greg of Philly to LA on foot did. You'll definitely be on that list!

I'm officially a whiner. Your attitude has been so great through all this and I was such a big crybaby with 13 days off.

With all the crosstraining you've been doing you're going to kick some major butt when you start running again.
