Rolling With The Punches

Why do we run? Various reasons, for sure. Some of mine are to stay in decent shape and to relieve stress. Lately I have been faced with lots of scheduling challenges. Long story short, today I ran mid-morning! It was only 80 degrees, so I decided to go for it. Two quick miles and a second shower later, I am much better equipped to face my LONG workday. This helps me t0 understand why some people choose to run during their lunch hour!

Couldn't agree with you more about running as a stress relief! The one thing I really love about summer is going for an early morning run---and the satisfaction of knowing I've accomplished it before most people even get out of bed!

I feel your pain and completely understand! Scheduling issues suck! But running always seems to make anything better-even if it's a short one!

Time is relative. I try to get out early, but it seems that early is 9 - 9:30 in the morning. Everything is so hot already, but I am learning the tree (shade) laden streets and paths to head toward.

It can always be done!

Now as for the long work day... Good luck!

:-p

Running is a major stress relief for me also. It is tough in the heat, but sometimes it feels good to really sweat it out on the open road!

Although it is often hot and humid, I have learned to like to run during the noon hour at work (rather than always early in the morning). Of course, having the National Mall right there to run on helps. But any run gotten in is worth it.
