6 at 6

6 miles -- I told myself "It's just 6 miles." I truly believe that, too.

I did an out-and-back. It was, of course, hot and humid. Occasionally, there was a cool breeze. However, each mile got progressively slower. I went from 13:23 to 17:38 with all of the walking I did. My heart rate was pretty high, so I tried to keep it down.

That's really all I have to say about it! I just got it done, by any means necessary (i.e. walking). The weather wore me out; afterwards I took a 2-hour nap!

You got out there-it horrible humid heat and ran/walk-exercised! That's all that matters! Some runs are better than others! You did it!

You got it done, that's the operative comment. Good going. There are days like this. Tomorrow is another day.

The heat and humidity are real fun killers on a run, but I agree with the others, you got it done and that's what matters. Way to go.

After getting through that I think you deserved a 2 hour nap. I'm betting the alarm ordeal from before also had an effect (affect?) on the run. I also agree with the others, way to go on getting it done.

Gotta love a nice summertime nap!
I hope all is well in your new home and that you have been well! I feel like I have been underwater for the last two months just now getting to the surface! Way to go on the six miles!

Way to hang in there on the miles....I know how you feel! You took the approach I normally do...I will finish the distance if I have to walk it!

Way to go!

I think you did just great! You got it done! That is what counts!

I just entered week 9 of 18 for my marathon training. The miles are ramping up now. I am getting them done, but everything is getting affected.

Denver does not have the humidity, but we just set a record for the heat. 20+ days of 90 degrees and above. Makes it tough when you work the swing shift and want to beat the heat with an early morning run.

I'm dreading Chicago if it is hot and humid on race day...

Good job, Susan! Don't worry much about your pace while running in oppressive heat & humidity. HR is a much better measure of how you're working under such conditions and you worked hard and earned that nap.
