Last night I joyously handed out Halloween candy to about a zillion kids. My neighbor gave me some excellent advice: "However much candy you think you need, get three times that." She was right! We ran out eventually and just turned out all lights... and kids still rang the bell. Good to know we live in a trick-or-treater friendly neighborhood!
I was up and at the park at 7 AM to meet Lisa and Norma. They are both training for the half at St. Jude (5 weeks from today). It will be Norma's first half marathon. They aimed to walk and run 8 miles. I aimed to just be there as long as them, whatever that mileage might be. We walked the entire first mile together and then they took off. Our paths crossed often, so it was like we were together. My ipod has stopped downloading podcasts, somehow, so I just observed nature at the park as I walked along.
I got 7.5 miles in! And I felt FANTASTIC. Hallelujah! They even got faster as I went along:
18:22
18:48
18:11
17:36
17:19
17:38
17:59
8:58 (half mile)
It's so funny how some days are good and some are just... passable...
Norma says "Yes!" as she has just completed her longest distance ever! I am wearing my new maternity jacket.
I signed up for the True Blue 5K on November 21st. Maybe I'll be feeling excellent that crisp evening and will get to run a little bit!

Great job on the 7.5! And the 5K sounds like a good quick race!
We missed the first wave of trick or treaters (was hanging out at the bicycle shop finalizing plans for Sat.) but we did have a few. Ended up turning out the porch lights when we started getting teenagers ringing the door.
I am so impressed with your mileage!! It's great having workout buddies (makes the time go by so much quicker).
Don't you just love the autumn runs? So nice to be out!
Wow, 7.5 miles -- GREAT!!
Sounds like a good neighborhood for kids and to meet up with new run/walk partners. I can't remember the last time we bought any Halloween candy to give out as we're rarely home (or is it we just eat it all ourselves :-).
I miss trick-or-treaters. We had a ton at our old house, and none here.
Nice job keeping up with the ladies! I know I tell you all the time, but your labor is going to be a breeze!
Fantastic work on the workout - nice jacket too! You are looking great AND happy - wonderful to see.
