Sunday Strength Training


Since I have to do speedwork tomorrow (1.5 miles), I have opted to do it at the high school track. That decision rules out combining my short run with strength training at the gym. So, I chose to go to the gym today and do nothing but strength training. I did about 10 machines (5 upper body, 5 legs/core) plus crunches. I like strength training; I don't get very sweaty, and it doesn't take all that long.

My research has surprised me; apparently, running does not work your quadriceps all that much, yet the hamstrings are in tip-top shape. So, every chance I get I do quad work. I guess I could start biking, but a) I don't have a bike, and b) there are only so many hours in the day!
