SF10 TR #12, 'Running' An Errand

SF10 Miles Trained To Date: 77.75

First things first; CONGRATULATIONS to Steve Runner for finishing the Boston Marathon today in an amazing 4:49:02!!!! In such nasty weather most people would have just melted! But not Steve - he never gave in. That's our favorite podcaster! http://www.steverunner.com/

Today's run for me was to be far, far less than a marathon! I was to do 5 easy miles at an 11:30 - 11:45 pace. I needed to return a DVD to the movie rental store... so I decided to run it there after work. Yep - I came home, got changed, and ran the DVD back to the store. It was 2.83 miles from my starting point to the drop box. So, I stopped short of home and enjoyed the cooling temperatures while walking and chatting on my cel phone.

Mile 1: 11:04
Mile 2: 11:43
Mile 3: 11:09
Mile 4: 11:45
Mile 5: 10:51
Total: 56:36
Average: 11:19 per mile (!!!), 170 beats per minute

Not too shabby! My goal this week is to actually do more than this and my longrun. Last week was tough that way... I had too much going on and couldn't seem to drag myself out of bed for early morning runs - even though I knew that would be the best for me. Oh well - this is a new week! And I have less than three weeks until the Toad Suck 10k.

I love how you turned your errand into a run. You are going to rock that 10K!

PS - Those race names (Big Dam Bridge, Toad Suck, etc) sure are funny :-)

LOL! The Toad Suck 10k? That is the best race name ever! I HAD to read about it. So I assume you will run the race then stick around for the VERY popular Toad Suck Daze Festival?? ;-)
