Two nights ago I had a dream that I was running. And I was so happy! I distinctly remember that part of the dream. I had a mile in and then I remembered that I'm not supposed to be running right now. So I stopped. Bummer! I told Coach Terry about it and he said I should try to dream that I was completing a 4 hour marathon. That would definitely be a dream!
Tonya the Trainer is impressed with my switch to cycling (which, mind you, I have only done once). she heavily encouraged me to keep up my cardio any way possible while I am not running. Smart lady.
Today I got up with the intention to go for a ride. Once I realized that it was 22 degrees outside, I "put the brakes" on that plan (pun intended!) and just checked my e-mail instead. Remembering how I suffered while riding in 40 degree weather helped make that decision. It was at that time that I realized that 22 degrees would NOT have deterred me from running. So there's the big difference: cycling = wind = ouch!
The very wise Coach Terry suggested that I get a bike trainer. And he informed me of one on sale. So that's just what I did. I will NOT let the weather get in the way of my future cycling plans! Arland was right; cycling is a bit more costly than running. Oh well - whatever makes ya happy (and keeps ya sane), right?!?
