Little Rock Half Marathon

Lance, husband of my fabulous friend Liberty, is now a half-marathoner! She said all of this racing was "my fault." Ha! We had a blast over the past 24 hours, and now they're headed home. I should start a marathon-hosting program, because I had a GREAT time on the sidelines. Here is the adventure in photographic form:

Lance, soon-to-be half-marathoner

Lance (an extreme Elvis fan) and his pit crew. The boys don't look thrilled...

the leaders of the pack

Here comes Lance at mile 5. He took a fall earlier in the race. Eek!

At mile 8, Lance says "One gear to go!" He said our "visits" perked him up.

Lance strides into the finish line area like a champion! Official chip time: 1:50:30!!!

the beautiful medal

All's well that end's well.

Ooh, hearing about his fall reminded me of mine at that race. Hope it wasn't too bad. Congrats to Lance and awesome race crew!

Great pictures. I have heard of the Heels and Hills race. I want to run it but it conflicts with something else on my calendar. You'll be ready for it next year, so let's plan on running together, or at least starting together before you leave me in the dust.
