Numbers

Today marks 73 days of no running.

I'd like to thank the 24 of you who sent me positive comments on my 'quitting my job to work for myself' post. WOW! I was overwhelmed. That is amazing. Blogging is a beautiful thing!

A recent Chinese food restaurant fortune cookie said the following: Your present plans are going to succeed. Well that was good to hear! I have not exactly been living a life of "vacation" luxury. I have had 4 days off work so far. I actually had to go into work one of those days, just for a few hours, to get the project I get to do on contract for my previous boss all ready to be submitted to the city for a zoning variance. The rest of the time has been spent talking to people about future work (which has been very positive!) and going all over creation photographing previous projects for my forthcoming website. Yesterday, for example, I drove over 500 miles around the state photographing 5 projects. On Monday I photographed 2 around here. On Tuesday I attended a lecture and then photographed 4 more in Little Rock. When does the boring part begin?

And this morning at the gym I nearly passed out for time number 2. All is well. I was doing high reps of a tough exercise (squats with a balance ball behind my back, backed up against the wall). That "old familiar feeling" of nausea came over me and it got a bit darker for just a split second. I stopped immediately and sat on the ball (unlike last time when I was clueless about what was happening). Then Tonya made me go and sit on the bench by the water fountain (after water). Then she flew to get a bottle of water and a wet towel. I thought I'd barf! But no. Lying on the bench for a few seconds made me a new woman. It was quick and painless. It seems that this may happen every 3 months. Hmm... Chasen didn't flip like last time. This is old hat! Ha. Not really. But all is well and I am 100%.

The Simply Stu Triathlon is this weekend and I feel very, very unprepared. I can at least do 1 sport -- cycling. I'll have to figure out a swimming plan quickly!

better to be busy than to be bored! although, there's also, "all things in moderation," to consider!

glad you didn't barf. that doesn't sound fun!

and GOOD LUCK this weekend! Have a blast. We expect a full blow-by-blow report!

Matt and I are very excited about your new venture. We know that it is going to be great.

There's a big group of people at our gym that have been training for a triathalon all winter. It has been really inspiring and we've contemplated joining them next winter. Who knows!

I can't wait to hear more about your adventure this weekend.

Susan! If you wanted a leisurely life, then don't own your own business! If you wat to aspire to inspire before you expire, then do own your own business. After all, when a new building is constructed (or remodelled, or demo'd) it is from your knowledge, ideas and ability. It will last for a long time. As people experience this new creation, they will think of the designer. You are obtaining a form of immortality!

Good for you! Keep it up!

It's just too bad that driving cannot be considered as a triathlon event...

I'm glad you didn't pass out at the gym! That was a close one!

I know you will do great! You're already working hard!

Maybe we could do a relay for the Simply Stu Tri... LOL - If we only had someone to swim.

Busy busy. Too bad gas is so high with you driving all over the state. Maybe you should bike around the state to photograph all you previous projects? Have a great weekend!

Wow, 500 miles! That sounds like an endurance event in itself.

The main thing with the SimplyStu WW tri is to just give something new a try and have fun. I KNOW you can do it!
