Just Too Darn Hot

After a quick trip home to Arkansas, we got settled back in here in Collierville. This morning both Chasen and I, separately, took a Memorial Day run. It was in the 80's and it was H-O-T and humid. I was out about 45 minutes and got sunburned! At 9 AM! Ugh. But I did discover a new wooded running trail. I did an out-and-back for a total of three miles. This time, though, I varied my routine. Instead of walking 3/4 and running 1/4 of a mile, I walked 3/8 and ran 1/8. That's the same amount of running, just a smaller amount more frequently. It spiced it up a bit! The ankle is doing A-OK.

After our stints outdoors, we headed out to go and look at plants to re-landscape our new home. And I also helped Chasen to organize his new office. Things are moving forward!

My friend Cheryl and I met at 6:00 AM this morning for our run. We then talked about meeting at 5:30 AM next Saturday. Just to beat the heat.

At least you got out there and your ankle is feeling good!

So thrilled you're out there running again girlfriend - am working hard to run that PWWH with you on the Saturday before Chicago. Can we expect photos of the new home soon?

Yup, summer's here. Time to load up on sunscreen and get outside early for those runs (or run inside).

Great to hear the ankle is doing well!!

For me, I'd take the heat over running in the cold any day!! And I adore the 5 or 5:30am summer runs--you get it over w/before it's too hot and there's so much time left in the day to do other things (mainly, chores for me!).

I just can't do an early morning run. I started out Sunday morning at 10:00 AM. Too hot. Yes, sunburn. But, it is either that , the treadmill, or an early run.

Hmmm... OK, either that or the treadmill!

;-p

So glad to hear your foot is handling the running. Never mind about my weather q. Obviously, it's as hot out there as it is in my neck of the woods - and maddy's. I did a run today in the heat, and i paid for it.
