4 Miles!

I missed my Tuesday run. I was headed to Arkansas that day for a meeting, which shouldn't have deterred me... but I slept in, knowing I'd be home really late (multiple non-work stops). Prior to that day, I contemplated giving up the 5 AM timeslot. I love it... but it is HARD making the transition back to going to bed super early, especially having just moved and still having house-setting-up things to do. Plus, I'm done by about 6 AM and usually want to nap after that, which makes it hard to be up-and-at-em for 8 AM. I contemplated starting my day at 6 AM instead. Well today I started my day at 5:30 and you know what? That is too late. The sun beat me and I did not like being out there in all that brightness! So I guess it's 5 AM for me...

I felt pretty tired this morning, but I knew I HAD to run. So I did. I told myself I'd be allowed to quit after 2 miles if need be. I really wanted to bump up to 4 miles, though. Well guess what -- I did! I was as slow as a turtle (darn sun!) but I did it. Hooray! That is my longest run post-tendon.

I have officially signed up for the Firecracker 5K to benefit St. Jude's!

There must be something in the water, I have not wanted to get up at the crack of dawn. Of course, instead of getting to run, I have to make things like Peanut Butter Pancakes and French Toast Sticks for the kidlets... But seeing that the heat is going to crank up, early mornings might be more attractive in the near future

Oh, how I wish it were safe for me to run on my own early mornings!

But reat to hear you're signed up for the race. I too will be doing a 5K race on 4th of July (gulp).

Good deal! A 4th of July race. Not me, though. I'll be camping in a leisurely manner. Quiet during the day (possible Jeep run or two and a daily run) then using the telescopes at night. It should be a lot of fun.

I don't want to sleep split shift, so I just can't get up early to run. I am learning where the most shade is on streets in my neighborhood. I am also learning where the water fountains are turned on and working. That way I have water to drink and to cool off with...

Good luck with your race!
