Yesterday my cross training consisted of working overtime and getting acquainted via walks with this girl:
Maggie, the 5-year-old Bearded Collie -- our guest for one week
Maggie is Chasen's boss's dog. He and his wife are on a one week vacation, so I volunteered to dog sit her. She is an angel. Although she peed on the rug within five minutes of arriving! Her parents were mortified. I just think it's normal. She was nervous.
This morning, after a great night's sleep, Maggie and I headed out for 2.5 easy miles. It's wasn't all that hot at 6:30 AM (maybe 72 degrees). However, I was better suited to swim because DANG it was humid! We drug along. Slow, slow, slow. But at least I accomplished the training run. That's the important part. And hopefully I tired Maggie out! :)
Upon returning home I looked online and the humidity was 97%. Nasty! No wonder I could only muster up 13:44 per mile.

How cute! I would love to have a dog to run with but most folks probably think I'd kill their dog ;-)
Have fun with your new friend!
What a cute dog! And how nice of you to offer to dog sit!
Way to get out there in the humidity. It's awful, isn't it?
Shirley - why would people think that? tell us more... ON the other hand, maybe not. And Susan honey - well done on the run. Am experiencing a tiny bit of hot weather running here and I don't know how you guys do it..
Oh lordy, that is humid. I would have been drenched just stepping outside. Thank heavens for that new "Clinical Strength" deoderant.
This past week has been brutal with the humidity. I prefer hot weather, but this is too, too much. Maggie is adorable!! You get to puppy-sit the cutest dogs.
