Finding Beauty

Maggie the dog is actually very camera shy, so I decided to photograph our front landscaped area. Now, we have the worst yard in the neighborhood -- and I am NOT joking. But, individually and close-up, there is beauty to be found. That is a good metaphor for life.

Holly - our least favorite shrub.

Red roses - pretty, but not the type you can put in a vase.

??? shrub

Pale pink roses.

??? shrub

Pink roses - pretty! But, alas, not vase-able.

Chasen shows his Razorback pride! I had to sew it on the pole so it wouldn't blow off.

We have big plans for the front yard. Gotta get crackin'!!!

You crack me up! At the first house we owned, after three months or so we ripped out the holly bushes. They were not our favorite either. Your second shrub is the same that we have in the front of our house now. I can't remember what they're called, and after 4 years, I still can't decide if I like them or not (I'm not much a shrub person). The roses are beautiful and I'm sure your yard is not as bad as you think.

Thanks for sharing with us!

Too funny. Our neighbour is a paid horticulturalist and does plants for a living. Yeah, we keep up with that... NOT. I'm hoping that, one day, she'll be bored and have mercy on us and relandscape.
