The Elvis 5K brought about some unprecedented aches and pains, so I made the decision to skip the 5-miler on Sunday. I figured pretty soon my morning runs will be 5 miles, so no big deal.
I woke to some rain -- oh happy day! That meant lower temps and, of course, 100% humidity. Bring it on, I say. I got out there and listened to Nik and Dan and got the job done! Three miles, piece of cake. Overall my intervals were not as speedy as previously, but they had their moments:
10:07
11:26 (ick)
10:38
8:17 (HUH!?!)
10:27
9:37
10:30
10:29
11:16 (ick)
9:16
8:37 (OMG)
8:29 (OMG)
I contest those 8 minute ones... but whatever! I guess even slow folks can have 200m bursts of speed. Gosh - I really should have intervaled my way through the 5K!

Interesting idea the interval 5K. Crazy or just thinking outside the box...lol. It's a fine line.
We've been having fall like temps here in Ohio and I'm LOVING it!!
We have actually had some gully whompin' rains here in Denver. A friend's van stopped in the middle of one of the busiest intersections in the city. The same intersection was a swimming pool parking lot later that evening. 3.5 inches of rain in one hour. Drenched!
Next morning? Beautiful, dry and hot!
BTW - He did get the van started and out of there before the mob lynched 'im!
Kicken butt with those 8 minute intervals...whooo hooo! That was too cool that you and your honey got to run together in the 5k! Too cute! Yucky weather can be a bummer...but sometimes it seems to break up the monotony too. Have a great week!
