After last Thursday's 4-miler, I felt some soreness in my lower abs. This sensation is unprecedented, so I assume it is "running with baby" related. A warm bath cured it. On Friday I felt great, so I went ahead with the s-l-o-w 4 mile race. Afterwards, MAN ALIVE! My lower abs were definitely sore, and a warm bath really didn't help. Saturday was a rest day anyway, and that's exactly what I did. I was fine by Sunday, for the 10-miler, but I wanted to be 110%, so I took that day off, too. Better safe than sorry for the preggers!
I intended to get up very early today and do the 10-miler. However, I had preggers insomnia last night and couldn't do it. Feeling 110% and not wanting to waste gorgeous weather, I got out there late this afternoon. I felt icky almost instantly. My ankles hurt (not in the recovering torn tendon kind of way, but more in the sore, never walked before kind of way) and those abs were immediately sore. Shoot! I sat on the curb after a half mile. Blech! After a short bit I got back up to give it another try and was much better. I walked 2 miles and stopped at home to visit the facilities. Feeling better I got back out there and made it another 2 miles and decided to call it a day. Oh well - I've never been one to make up missed runs anyway.
I'm just "stretching out" and will just have to take it easy. Such is life.
