Stretched!

After last Thursday's 4-miler, I felt some soreness in my lower abs. This sensation is unprecedented, so I assume it is "running with baby" related. A warm bath cured it. On Friday I felt great, so I went ahead with the s-l-o-w 4 mile race. Afterwards, MAN ALIVE! My lower abs were definitely sore, and a warm bath really didn't help. Saturday was a rest day anyway, and that's exactly what I did. I was fine by Sunday, for the 10-miler, but I wanted to be 110%, so I took that day off, too. Better safe than sorry for the preggers!

I intended to get up very early today and do the 10-miler. However, I had preggers insomnia last night and couldn't do it. Feeling 110% and not wanting to waste gorgeous weather, I got out there late this afternoon. I felt icky almost instantly. My ankles hurt (not in the recovering torn tendon kind of way, but more in the sore, never walked before kind of way) and those abs were immediately sore. Shoot! I sat on the curb after a half mile. Blech! After a short bit I got back up to give it another try and was much better. I walked 2 miles and stopped at home to visit the facilities. Feeling better I got back out there and made it another 2 miles and decided to call it a day. Oh well - I've never been one to make up missed runs anyway.

I'm just "stretching out" and will just have to take it easy. Such is life.

Take it easy. You can run post baby. Your tendons get all wonky when you're pregnant. Maybe walking for now?

Absolutely sweetie - take it easy. Plenty of time to push yourself (and the baby) afterwards!

Yep, a growing baby means a growing tummy. Take it easy. If your ankles continue to bother you, you might consider water jogging/walking if you have access to a pool. Saw a guy today at the pool who had a heel injury and was water jogging for 2 hours to get ready for an Ironman race next month.

That baby is trying to stretch your tummy out, so just let him/her do it's thing. No rush, just keep moving.

The problem is that you are used to running! Unfortunately, you are not used to being pregnant! Take it easy and think about your mindset. Remember that you are running for two now...

This is an article that I came across... Check it out!

Yes, Susan, take it easy... You have a wonderful guest now so conditions are definitively different. Take care, and I agree with Shirley... water workouts maybe a good solution....
