Run #2 - 3-mile tempo

Anticipating an early work meeting, I set my alarm for 5:15 AM. After two hits of the snooze button, I was up and lacing up my running shoes. My "norm" these days is to walk to the edge of my neighborhood as my Garmin (thanks, Katie!!!!!) finds GPS signal. Once there, I take off. Today was no exception, except that it was still dark. The quarter moon and stars guided my way. It looked a lot like the old wallpaper in my master bathroom pre-demolition day. (the funny things you think before 6 AM....)

I did a simple out-and-back course. Before the halfway point the sun was up. It actually felt COOL out there, which is a rarity these days. So, all in all, it was the perfect time to run. I guess the two snoozes were the appropriate choice.

As always, the first half was a lot faster than the second half. I've got to work on that!

FYI, I get up to run pre-dawn for a few reasons. 1) it's not nearly as hot as it will be after work, 2) all I want to do after work is go home, and 3) by all estimations, I am a morning person.

P.S. I got to work right on time for my early meeting.

I love early morning runs because it sets the tone for the whole day. I always feel like I can accomplish so much more!

Unfortunately, I am NOT #3!
