8-Miler No Matter What

This past week was my first week of official training for the Go! St. Louis Marathon on April 11th. I ran 4 easy miles on Monday (treadmill, during Isaac's naptime), 5 miles on Tuesday (again, naptime treadmill) and then life got in the way on Thursday, so I had to skip the 3 mile tempo run. I got right back on track Friday for 4 easy miles (early morning treadmill run) and the snow and ice began to fall. You know that stuff shuts down there world around here! So today the streets were icy, so I sort of had to do my 8 mile longrun on the treadmill. That distance is really no problem with Teddy Tready. It felt grrrreeeeattttt! I maintained a 12:30 pace except for the one minute of walking at the top of each mile. I was done in no time!

Week 3 of P90X is now complete. I have not missed a single day and Chasen has only missed one. I am very, very proud of us! Week 4 is a sort of a recovery week, so we don't actually pump any iron or do any official ab work. However, it's also not a walk in the park. Do you know what we have to do TWICE? That darn P90X Yoga! Man oh man that is tough stuff. But I know it is making me a better, more flexible athlete (or at least that is what I am telling myself). Actually, I have wanted to try yoga for ages. I just never knew how tough it would be for me!

Good girl! Well done on getting week 1 done - and for getting so far on your PX90! You are going to be so much stronger for your next marathon.

WTG Susan! You're a champ! I have no other goal than a few 10k's a 6.5k and a 12k somewhere along the way and haven't been able to get out there today... my body just didn't follow...
Well done on running while Isaac sleeps, that's a great way to use time!
You'll do great in St. Louis, no question about it!
Thinking about a half in the fall (told a friend I'd run it with her, she already did last year) but will have to see... I have to lose the weight first and be able to get slightly faster to finish in time!
Great job on P90X too! You're rocking it!

No cold, ice or snow will stop Susan from getting her workouts done. Well done!!

A co-worker of mine is doing that program and he's lost 10 pounds in 14 days! He's getting ripped! Where are your before and after pics?

You guys rock! I have always wanted to do P90X but I think having a partner or group to do it with is all the better. Maybe I can find someone around here who would do it with me. Keep it up! You are my hero. =)
