Glacier National Park, Part 3

On our second full day at Glacier, I made us another "Big Sky" breakfast. I also made lunch at that time, because we were planning on a full day in the park. That's ambitious with a little one, but we were determined to see as much as we could. We aimed to go to the east side of the park, and that involved a drive. So we stopped at every possible toddler-friendly place along the way.

Railroad trestles always make for good conversation with a train lover like Isaac.

We happened upon this unmarked waterfall. Unmarked!

Like I mentioned in a previous post, we so love the waterfalls.

Silly boy wanted to put his hand in the water. Silly daddy let him.

The open road on the east side of the park was a bit flatter in some areas.

Of course, you are never without mountains in Montana.

Of all the wildlife I envisioned us possibly seeing, loose horses were not on the list.

There were a total of three in one spot. It just blew my mind!

[enter Marie Osmond and Dan Seals] Won't you meet me in Montana?

We actually took a wrong turn and ended up in/near the Blackfeet Indian area.

When we finally made it to the east side visitor center, it was windy and raining.

It didn't deter us. We got out and made the best of it between showers.

More rushing water! Just can't get enough!

Even moss is pretty at Glacier.

Really now, what more could you ask for?

It's really a romantic place, if you're sans toddler.

We all got adventurous and crossed this decently stable bridge.

Isaac has no fear. Just like his father...

I made it across, too. Gotta show my boy that waterfall!

Ah, an observation deck - much more my speed.

Isaac was quite taken with the mountains and snow, and he kept asking to play in the snow. We figured there was probably some at the very center of the park, but the road was closed. So imagine how happy we were when we randomly found some while heading back to the cabin!

This is my favorite vacation photo.

The cozy cabin, the good food, the majestic scenery... at this point we were sad that we had to leave the next day. But Chasen is determined to return when Isaac is much older.
